The Federal Government has developed a draft policy and strategic plan for the management of electronic waste (e-waste) in the country.
It was disclosed by the Minister of Environment, Mrs Laurentia Mallam at the Consultative Stakeholders’ Workshop on the Management of Electrical and Electronic Waste in Nigeria held recently in Abuja. The workshop was organised by the United Nation Industrial Development Organisation UNIDO in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment and other stakeholders.
Represented by the acting Director, Pollution and Environmental Health Department in the Ministry, Mr Abdul-Kazeem Bayero, Mallam said the Federal Government is determined to address the challenges posed by e-waste.
