FUT, MINNA LECTURER EMERGES BEST PhD STUDENT IN MALAYSIA


Dr. Ismaila Idris of the Department of Cyber Security, School of Information & Communication Technology (SICT) of the institution emerged as the Best graduate PhD student in Computer Science, Universiti of Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) based on his excellent academic achievement.

The award was bestowed on him during the 53rd Convocation ceremony of the institution held recently.

Speaking at the brief presentation of the award to the University, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Musbau Adewumi Akanji, FNSBMB, congratulated the lecturer for making the University proud and expressed satisfaction with the performance of most of the FUT, Minna academic staff who have concluded their doctoral programmes.

Prof. Akanji urged other academic staff of the institution undergoing doctoral programmes within and outside the country to concentrate on their studies while assuring them of Management's support.
Speaking earlier, Dr. Idris thanked the University Management for their support and assured them of his readiness to contribute immensely to the development of the institution.

Dr. Idris who is the National Vice-President of the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN) has his PhD thesis titled: ENHANCED NEGATIVE SELECTION ALGORITHM FOR EMAIL SPAM DETECTION.

It would be recalled that Dr. Mohammed Baba Ndalimna of the Department of Mechanical Engineering also emerged as the best graduate PhD student in Engineering at the International Islamic University Malaysia, (IIUM).
