Many Feared Dead As Twin Explosion Hit Plateau

Many people lost their life yesterday in Jos as they was a twin explosion in the state capital plateau.

According to an eye witness:
 “the first explosion took place at about 9:14pm Close to a shopping complex on Bauchi road, near University of Jos  while  the second explosion was heard about four minutes later at a popular food joint, known as Hajiya Talatu.”

The witness added that a Hilux van belonging to Sheikh Jingir and other private vehicles conveyed the dead and injured to hospitals in the city.

The second explosion was said to have occurred close to the popular Yan Taya mosque where Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir says his Ramadan tafsir.

Another resident, Godwin Okoko told said that twin bomb blasts occurred in Jos North LGA killing several people even though casualty figure was not ascertained.

“The first bomb exploded at Yan taya mosque during prayers while the second went off near Hajiya Talatu Mai Abinchi, a popular eating spot along Bauchi Road,” he said.

He condemned the act saying, “This is sad, barbaric, even at a HOLY PERIOD.” He called for effective community policing to curb the trend.
