Fuel shortage grounds Yobe

In spite of endeavors of the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, to shorten fuel shortage over the alliance, Yobe State still records long lines in the greater part of the filling stations, where the item is accessible.

In the interim, underground market merchants were working together.


“I have been in the filling station for more than 12 hours waiting to get fuel, while hawkers are busy making brisk business with officials of the filling station and the long queue persists unabated,” said a customer in one of the petrol stations in the metropolis.

Efforts made to contact the Station Manager, Mustapha, proved abortive as he couldn’t be reached on phone.

At press time, the traffic jam on Damaturu-Maiduguri Road had worsened.
