LG to the webOS Auto demonstration at CES 2020, an Android Auto and Apple Car Play rival

With webOS Auto, LG Electronics is taking a big jump, jumping head-first into the automotive infotainment business. The company announced that at its booth and across its affiliate booths, including Microsoft, Qualcomm Qt and more, it will be demonstrating this new platform for cars at CES 2020. It is based on the Automotive Development Platform (ADP)
of Qualcomm and will also support different content companies.To continue with, like iHeartRadio, Mapbox, and Cerence. The software seeks to compete with existing platforms for automotive infotainment, such as CarPlay from Apple and Android Auto from Google.

At its booth at CES 2020, LG Electronics will have a prototype of a connected vehicle, where it has partnered with Adient, a leading manufacturer of car seats, to demonstrate various services such as Internet radio and video streaming.The blog post of LG Electronics on its Korean social website also mentions that it has collaborated with Microsoft, Qualcomm, MS, Qt, and Luxoft to build webOS Auto and that CES attendees will also be able to see demos or use cases of this application at their respective partner booths.

WebOS Auto is said to be built on top of the Snapdragon Automotive Development Platform from Qualcomm and incorporates Qualcomm's multi-display and 5 G network support technology. Microsoft is said to present an AVN scenario (audio, video and navigation) that combines webOS Auto and Microsoft Connected Vehicle Platform (MCVP). The Finnish software company, Qt, presents a human machine Gui designed using the ' Qt ' software tool and a concept car developed on the Auto webOS software company Luxoft.
